300FeetOut is proud to celebrate two and a half decades of partners and projects.
We’re only as good as our people. Our team, clients, partners, and friends of past and present make us who we are. Share a memory, a special day, or a story. Let’s celebrate 25 years of us.
share a memory300FeetOut is Founded
300FeetOut is founded by Nina Dietzel 300 feet out on the pier of the San Francisco bay.
The Early Pioneers
Nina, Ginger, Eric and Dava are among the first team members of 300FeetOut working from our Pier 9 studio on the San Francisco bay.
Our First Project Spotlight: Adobe
Starting strong with a client named "Adobe". One of our very first projects was to create a fictitious company and design a fictitious advertising campaign to show businesses how the Adobe creative applications could be utilized to market a product.
Cailin Boyle Remembers Naming 300FeetOut
Nina and Ginger walk into my small office South of Market.
They sit down and say they have this idea for a new agency, focused on web design. What an innovative concept, I thought, as there weren't many websites out there, and what was available had the design aesthetic of Craig's List.
This was at a time when Netscape Navigator was the browser of choice. We were all on dial up. AltaVista was a preferred search engine. Steve Jobs hadn't yet returned to Apple. And Google? What's that?
Nina and Ginger had a placeholder name: Impact Design. They asked if I could help with some writing. I said "I'm in." And I've been in ever since.
Dava Guthmiller Remembers Xuma
Die cuts, expanding folder gussets, and a lot of army green and yellow in the branding for Joe Cha's team at Xuma. Still one of my favorite projects, and still a great friend after all these years.

300FeetOut heads to the cool trade winds of Kauai, creating branded collateral for Kauai Coffee, Continental Airlines and beyond.
Stacey Crinks Remembers IAS with The Content Bureau
In 1999, I met Nina at a pitch to International Asset Systems (where my husband was CEO) in the Pier office that was actually "300 feet out." We ended up partnering on this account; 300FeetOut created the brand identity, designed and produced the print assets, and my agency, The Content Bureau, wrote the copy. It was a success for all three companies. 25 years later IAS (and my marriage) are no longer, but my love and appreciation for 300FeetOut endures! You designed my company's logo--which I still adore 23 years later. We've partnered on client projects. And Barbara and I are now in WPO together. Big love and congratulations on 25 years!
Here's the logo you designed in 2000, which we still use!

Jennifer Selby Long Remembers Selby Group, LLC
Congratulations! I still have fond memories of working with your team, back when your offices were on a pier, near the Nash Bridges set!
San Francisco Opera Brand Campaign

300FeetOut imagines twenty-somethings choosing opera over rock concerts with our San Francisco Opera campaign. The San Francisco Opera approached 300FeetOut with the goal of bringing new audiences and single ticket viewers to the opera. The new advertising campaign, designed by 300FeetOut and launched in conjunction with the opening of the 2003-04 opera season, made it hip to score opera tickets.

Even the invites to the celebration were custom designed for the sea faring crew.

300FeetOut hits the Aspen slopes

Aspen
Snowmass
With four very diverse mountains and two unique mountain towns, Aspen/Snowmass has long been known as an exclusive wonderland. The famed Rocky Mountain resort invited 300FeetOut to “brand” their 2010 winter season with an Aspen/Snowmass website nearly as expansive, inviting, and lively as the real thing. The goal? Invigorate the seasoned Aspen/Snowmass community while also extending a welcome to families, beginners and guests with any vacation budget.

Project
"Our work with the Walt Disney Family Museum was a big experience. Working with the family and granddaughter of Walt, Diane Disney, made our work important to the hearts of many people. Like the man, the museum is innovative, so our design and development followed suit with an immersive online experience. We created some very interactive, exploratory features that required everyone on the team to join forces. I often think of that project as the launching point of our efforts to refine our collaboration skills and lean on each other to create something bigger."
— Greg Ciro Tornincasa, Senior Art Director
